The Beat is the internal magazine for Barclays Africa. The magazine is distributed throughout Africa and each issue focuses on specific themes that roll out throughout the year. These themes are based the five key areas Barclays uses to evaluate their performance; customer, colleague, citizenship, company, and conduct. The visual solution was developed for the “Customer” theme.

The concept for the illustration is a visual integration of the customer and the digital innovations Barclays have implemented to help their customers prosper throughout Africa.
